May 31 (Reuters) - Following is reaction from tennis players after four-times champion and world number one Rafael Nadal's fourth-round exit from the French Open at the hands of Robin Soderling on Sunday.

WORLD NO. 11 NIKOLAY DAVYDENKO "Now for everybody shock. I think everybody was expecting Nadal to win again at Roland Garros. But he lost. What happens now? Maybe now (Roger) Federer is thinking, oh, now I have chance to win Roland Garros for a first time."

FORMER WIMBLEDON CHAMPION MARIA SHARAPOVA

"It caught me off guard. But that's life and that's tennis and that's why they put the nets up every morning.

"He's won this tournament so many times, and he's an incredible athlete. Sometimes you leave that court and sometimes you lose. It's just part of the game. He has a great head on his shoulders. I'm sure he'll be fine."

WORLD NO. 8 FERNANDO VERDASCO

"I think it's the great opportunity for Federer. He can win it. Soderling and Davydenko, and also (Andy) Murray have a chance. They're not the favorites, but Murray is a very competitive he's among the top four players.

But I believe Federer, as the tournament turns out today, is the favorite, and he has a good opportunity to win this tournament. We'll see what happens."   Continued...
