Gaza residents say Israel troops inside enclave
GAZA (Reuters) - Palestinians living in the south of the Gaza Strip said Israeli troops had entered the territory after dark on Thursday in what appeared to be a small raiding force from the area of the Sufa border crossing with Israel.
Israeli aircraft and, apparently, artillery continued to launch attacks in the north of the Hamas-controlled enclave in what ministers say is a response to Islamist rocket fire that killed an Israeli civilian on Wednesday. The government has so far ignored calls from some for a major ground offensive.
