MILAN (Reuters) - An alliance between the London Stock Exchange (LSE.L) and Milan's exchange Borsa Italiana can only take the form of a holding company comprising the two, Borsa Italiana board member Alessandro Pansa said on Thursday.

"There are no alternatives," Pansa told reporters on his way to a Borsa Italiana board meeting. Pansa added he "likes the LSE idea" but that the board would consider better offers should there be any.
