Italy new car sales down 19.5 pct in June - report
MILAN, July 1 (Reuters) - Italian new car registrations fell 19.5 percent to 184,275 units in June, according to government figures published on Tuesday.
Registrations for cars from Fiat SpA's (FIA.MI) three brands fell 16.5 percent, according to Reuters calculations.
The drop had been expected.
Fiat Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne had said the month was as "disastrous" as May. Promotor, an influential research centre, had also forecast a weak month.
The figures confirmed a report by Italian news agency Ansa.
