Gustav shuts Mobile, ICW between Miss., Fla. - USCG

HOUSTON, Sep 1 (Reuters) - Several ports and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway remained closed from Mississippi to Florida Monday as Hurricane Gustav passed, the U.S. Coast Guard said Monday.

The ports of Bienville, Gulfport and Pascagoula, Mississippi; Mobile, Alabama, and Pensacola, Florida, remained closed at midday, but plans were to reopen Mobile as soon as possible, according to the Coast Guard.

The ICW remained closed from near Pearlington, Mississippi, to near Panama City, Florida, the Coast Guard said. (Reporting by Bruce Nichols; Editing by John Picinich)
