BEFORE THE BELL-GE, Comcast up after GE-Vivendi NBCU deal

NEW YORK, Dec 1 (Reuters) - Shares of General Electronic Co (GE.N) gained in premarketing trading on Tuesday on news that the company has agreed to value NBC Universal for $5.8 billion with Vivendi SA (VIV.PA), according to a source familiar with the matter.

The stock gained 1.4 percent to $16.24.

Shares of Comcast Corp (CMCSA.O) also gained 2.3 percent to $15.00 before the bell as the deal paved the way for the company's proposed joint venture with GE.
