UPDATE 1-Freddie Mac not issuing REMICs in January

NEW YORK, Jan 2 (Reuters) - Freddie Mac (FRE.N) (FRE.P) said on Friday said it will not issue a reference REMIC (Real Estate Mortgage Investment Conduit) offering during the week of January 12.

The agency has a monthly window based on its 2009 funding calendar to sell reference REMICs and can opt each month to skip issuance during that period.

The last time it sold this type of securities was in a $500 million offering priced in June 2008. (Reporting by Caryn Trokie, Editing by Walker Simon)
