ATLANTA, April 3 (Reuters) - Satellite company GeoEye Inc (GEOY.O) said on Friday it was hoping to complete its search for a chief financial officer "shortly" and added labor costs will rise as it ramps up hiring to support operations.
"We've got to do a better job with financial filings and our overall communications with investors," GeoEye Chief Executive Matthew O'Connell said during an earnings conference call.
He added that the company's annual report was filed late this year and noted that earnings had been restated for some periods because of accounting errors.
The company announced its CFO search in the fourth quarter.
GeoEye, which provides imagery to government and other customers such as Google (GOOG.O), said no executives at the vice president level or above received bonuses in 2008 as sales and profit suffered because of order shortfalls due to the delay in the launch of its GeoEye-1 satellite.
"We only pay bonuses when we meet our goals," O'Connell said. Continued...
