Mexican stocks jump 1.4 pct ahead of Fed statement
MEXICO CITY, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Mexican stocks rose sharply on Wednesday as global stock markets gained ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve's statement on interest rates and the economy.
The IPC stock index .MXX climbed 1.4 percent to 29,290, lifted by gains of more than 3 percent in shares of copper miner Grupo Mexico (GMEXICOB.MX: Quote, Profile, Research) and cement giant Cemex (CMXCPO.MX: Quote, Profile, Research). (Reporting by Michael O'Boyle; Editing by James Dalgleish)
