UPDATE 1-Venezuela sees "good" 2008 oil price: official
(Adds details, background)
CARACAS, Jan 4 (Reuters) - A director of Venezuela's Central Bank said Friday he expects a "good price" for Venezuelan oil in 2008, only days after U.S. oil prices broke the psychological barrier of $100 per barrel.
Armando Leon said in an interview with state television that oil prices reaching $100 per barrel "is an indicator that this year we will probably (have) a good price of oil."
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez in recent years has repeatedly predicted that oil prices would break into the triple digits.
OPEC price hawk Venezuela, the fourth-largest supplier of oil to the United States which is the world's biggest consumer, has consistently supported higher prices for crude oil. (Reporting by Brian Ellsworth; Editing by John Picinich)
