Brazil's Vivo profit more than doubles in Q3
SAO PAULO, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Vivo Participacoes (VIVO4.SA: Quote, Profile, Research)(VIV.N: Quote, Profile, Research), Brazil's largest mobile phone carrier, reported third-quarter net profit of 340 million reais ($196 million), up from 133.9 million reais a year earlier.
Vivo, a joint venture owned by Portugal Telecom (PTC.LS: Quote, Profile, Research) and Spain's Telefonica (TEF.MC: Quote, Profile, Research), had posted a profit of 172.4 million reais in the second quarter of this year. ($1=1.733 reais) (Reporting by Guillermo Parra-Bernal)
