 LOS ANGELES, July 5 (Reuters) - Following are the top 10
films at the North American box office for the three-day U.S.
Independence Day holiday weekend beginning on July 3, according
to studio estimates compiled on Sunday by Reuters.
 1=(1) Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen .. $42.5 million
 1=(*) Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs ....... $42.5 million
 3 (*) Public Enemies ........ $26.2 million
 4 (2) The Proposal .......... $12.8 million
 5 (3) The Hangover .......... $10.4 million
 6 (4) Up ..... $ 6.6 million
 7 (5) My Sister's Keeper .... $ 5.3 million
 8 (7) The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 ........... $ 2.5 million
 9=(6) Year One .............. $ 2.1 million
 9=(9) Night at the Museum ... $ 2.1 million
 NOTE: Last weekend's ranking in parentheses. * = new
release. "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" and "Public Enemies"
opened on Wednesday.

Battle of the Smithsonian" were released by 20th Century Fox, a
unit of News Corp (NWSA.O).
 "Public Enemies" was released by Universal Pictures, a unit
of General Electric Co's (GE.N) NBC Universal.
 "The Proposal" was released by Touchstone Pictures, and
"Up" by Walt Disney Pictures, both units of Walt Disney Co
(DIS.N).
 "The Hangover" and "My Sister's Keeper" were released by
Warner Bros Pictures, a unit of Time Warner Inc (TWX.N).
 "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" and "Year One" were released
by Columbia Pictures, a unit of Sony Corp (6758.T) (SNE.N).
