Flint Hills shuts Corpus Christi SRU-filing
HOUSTON, April 5 (Reuters) - Flint Hills Resources shut sulfur recovery unit No. 2 in the east plant of its 288,126 barrel per day (bpd) Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery on Sunday for planned repairs, according to a notice filed with state pollution regulators.
A condenser with a slight steam leak will be repaired, according to the notice filed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
An SRU converts hydrogen-sulfur gas, which is a byproduct of refining of heavy, sour crude oil, into sulfur for removal from the refinery. (Reporting by Erwin Seba, Editing by Maureen Bavdek)
