NEW YORK, Oct 5 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move on Monday:

BROCADE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS INC (BRCD.O), $8.64, up 13 pct

The company has put itself up for sale, the Wall Street Journal said on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter. The paper said Oracle Corp (ORCL.O) and Hewlett-Packard Co (HPQ.N) were potential bidders for the company but a deal was not imminent and Brocade might not even go ahead with a sale. [ID:nN05115900]

CATERPILLAR INC (CAT.N), $49.47, up 1.4 pct

The company plans to raise prices on most of its machinery by up to 2 percent next year. [ID:nN0596626]

MANITOWOC CO (MTW.N), $10.44, up 10 pct

Deutsche Bank upgraded the stock to "buy" from "hold," saying it had the potential for signifciant upside over the next three years. [ID:nBNG508687]
