Chile LAN October passenger traffic up 15.7 pct
SANTIAGO, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Chile's LAN LAN.SN (LFL.N), one of the biggest air carriers in Latin America, said on Monday its passenger traffic rose 15.7 percent in October, compared with the same month a year earlier.
Cargo traffic fell 6.2 percent in the same period, LAN added, citing lower global import and export volumes due to an economic slowdown.
International passenger traffic rose 16.5 percent during the month from a year ago. Domestic passenger traffic in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador and Peru, rose 14.1 percent.
LAN accounts for more than one half of Chile's international passenger traffic and nearly three quarters of its domestic traffic. (Reporting by Santiago newsroom; editing by Carol Bishopric)
