MEXICO CITY, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Industrial production in Mexico is expected to have fallen in September from a year earlier, but the drop was probably tempered by a recovery in Mexican car factories.
Output likely fell 6.5 percent in September versus last year, according to 16 economists surveyed by Reuters.
That would be more moderate than the August reading of a 7.3 percent decline.
Mexican auto production has risen for four straight months through October after falling earlier in the year due to the U.S. recession. Americans buy about 70 percent of the cars that Mexico exports.
Car output is a major part of Mexican manufacturing.
Mexico's national statistics agency will release the data on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. (2030 GMT)
