UPDATE 1-El Paso cuts 6 percent of its workforce
HOUSTON, Nov 10 (Reuters) - El Paso Corp (EP.N) on Tuesday cut 300 jobs, or 6 percent of its workforce, as part of its efforts to boost liquidity, a spokesman said.
Last week, the U.S. natural gas pipeline and production company slashed its quarterly dividend 80 percent, identified $150 million in cost savings and said it would sell up to $500 million in assets as part of its plan to improve returns.
El Paso has about 5,000 workers, Richard Wheatley, a spokesman for the Houston company, said. (Reporting by Anna Driver in Houston; Editing by Phil Berlowitz)
