IMM speculators trim short bets on U.S. dollar
NEW YORK, July 11 (Reuters) - Currency speculators decreased their bets against the dollar but are still positioned for further declines in the U.S. currency, weekly data from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission showed on Friday.
Speculators were net short the dollar to the amount of $7.85 billion in the week ended July 8, from a $11.78 billion net short position in the prior week.
The aggregate U.S. dollar position is derived from the net positions of International Monetary Market speculators in yen, euro, British pound, Swiss franc, Canadian and Australian dollars.
