Air Methods helicopter crashed in Wisconsin

PHILADELPHIA, May 11 (Reuters) - Air medical transport company Air Methods Corp (AIRM.O) said on Sunday one of its helicopters suffered a fatal crash in Wisconin on Saturday, killing the pilot, flight doctor and nurse on board.

The EC-135 twin-engine helicopter, which served the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, had disappeared shortly after lifting off after refueling. The wreckage was found on Sunday near La Crosse, Wisconsin, the company said.

The helicopter was equipped with satellite tracking. Senior company officials, Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board representatives have arrived in the area or are en route to investigate the accident.
