WASHINGTON, June 13 (Reuters) - The United States urged Iran on Saturday to peacefully resolve any disputes over its presidential election and said Tehran should "seize the opportunity" and have direct dialogue with Washington.

"We encourage the Iranian government to seize this opportunity to engage directly with the United States," a senior U.S. official told Reuters, adding that Washington was not ready to pronounce the outcome of the disputed election. (Reporting by Sue Pleming)
