BP Carson, Calif. refinery shuts FCC-sources

HOUSTON, July 14 (Reuters) - BP Plc (BP.L)(BP.N) shut a 102,500-barrel-per-day (bpd) gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit during the weekend at its 265,000-bpd Los Angeles-area refinery in Carson, California, according to sources familiar with refinery operations.

The shutdown was signalled by a notice of planned flaring the refinery filed Sunday with California pollution regulators. (Reporting by Erwin Seba)
