(Adds MMS comment, still no details)

HOUSTON, Sept 14 (Reuters) - Hurricane Ike damaged some offshore oil and gas production platforms and pipelines, but no details were available as crews continued to do overflights and assemble information, officials said on Sunday.

"We have preliminary reports of platforms that are down, that have been destroyed," said U.S. Minerals Management Service spokeswoman Eileen Angelico. "We expect to see some pipeline damage."

Two drilling rigs that Ike set adrift in different locations 100 miles off Louisiana had not moved very far and tugs were headed out to corral them.

"We expect them to get there this evening," Angelico said.

"It's all preliminary. We're going to continue to do flyovers with industry and the Coast Guard tomorrow (Monday) and, hopefully, get a better handle on the damage."

A Coast Guard spokesman said lots of information "is pouring in like crazy," but specific announcements awaited further work.

"As far as anything concrete, not yet. We're still working on it, doing overflights," he added. (Reporting by Bruce Nichols; Editing by Andre Grenon)
