Chevron weighs shutting Hawaii refinery -newspaper
HOUSTON, May 14 (Reuters) - Chevron Corp (CVX.N) is considering halting production at its 54,000 barrel per day refinery in Honolulu, Hawaii, and converting the site into a fuels distribution terminal, the Honolulu Advertiser reported on its website Thursday.
A Chevron spokesman was not immediately available to discuss the refinery with Reuters.
A refinery spokesman told the Advertiser the review was due to market conditions. The recession has crushed U.S. demand for motor fuels. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by David Gregorio)
