SAN FRANCISCO, July 15 (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp's (MSFT.O) market share of the U.S. search market increased modestly in June, the first month that it fielded the new Bing search engine, according to a person who has seen the latest data from research firm ComScore.
Microsoft captured 8.4 percent of the U.S. Internet search market in June, up from 8 percent the month before, said the source, who declined to be identified because ComScore has not publicly released the information. ComScore was not immediately available to comment.
Yahoo Inc's (YHOO.O) market share contracted to 19.6 percent in June from 20.1 percent in May, the source said, while Google Inc's share <GOOG.O was unchanged from the prior month at 65 percent. (Reporting by Alexei Oreskovic; Editing by Derek Caney)
