Shell returning workers to U.S. Gulf offshore
HOUSTON (Reuters) - Shell Oil Co (RDSa.L) was returning 425 workers to offshore platforms in the eastern Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday with the passage of Tropical Storm Fay on land, the company said in a statement.
None of Shell's offshore oil and natural gas production was shut due to the storm.
The workers, who Shell said were not essential to production, were evacuated Saturday and Sunday from the Gulf as forecasts showed the storm could cross into the eastern edge of offshore production areas.
Most of the workers should be back offshore on Tuesday.
