UPDATE 1-Judge orders Delphi, GM, lenders to mediation
NEW YORK, May 20 (Reuters) - A judge ordered bankrupt auto parts supplier Delphi Corp (DPHIQ.PK) to mediate with General Motors GM.N, lenders and the U.S. government's Auto Task Force to resolve its lingering reorganization, according to court documents filed on Wednesday.
Delphi, a major supplier to GM, has operated in bankruptcy since 2005 and the judge overseeing its reorganization, Robert Drain, said in the documents that non-binding mediation may contribute to a resolution of the case.
The mediation will be overseen by Cecila Morris, a bankruptcy judge in New York's southern district based in Poughkeepsie, New York.
The case is In re Delphi Corp, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, No. 05-44481. (Reporting by Tom Hals and Emily Chasan)
