NEW YORK (Reuters) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad reiterated on Monday that his country's nuclear program was for peaceful purposes and not to develop weapons.
"Our nuclear program, first and foremost operates within the framework of law ....(and) they are completely peaceful," the Iranian president said, speaking at New York's Columbia University. "We don't believe in nuclear weapons, period."
Answering questions after a speech he gave at one of America's most prestigious universities, Ahmadinejad said Iran's nuclear program was for electricity generation.
