NY state pension votes to end Quadrangle investments
NEW YORK, April 24 (Reuters) - New York state's pension fund voted not to place any new investments with private equity fund Quadrangle, a spokesman for the state comptroller said on Friday.
New York's state comptroller is the sole trustee of the $122 billion pension fund.
The departure of Quadrangle co-founder Steven Rattner from the fund group to lead the U.S. auto bail-out team gave investors in the $2 billion fund the option of deciding whether to commit more capital.
New York City's comptroller, who helps oversee more than $80 billion of its pension funds, also said he had voted to block new capital investments with Quadrangle, citing the state attorney general's ongoing probe of state pension kickbacks.
Both the state and city comptrollers said they were awaiting the results of other investors' votes on further investments with Quadrangle. (Reporting by Joan Gralla; Editing by Dan Grebler)
