HOUSTON, July 27 (Reuters) - Total Petrochemicals USA (TOTF.PA) was restarting nine units at its 232,000 barrel per day (bpd) Port Arthur, Texas, refinery on Sunday, according to a notice filed with state pollution regulators.

The restart of units 804, 805, 810, 819, 822, 823, 824, 825 and 836 began Sunday morning and was expected to take until Thursday morning, according to a notice filed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

The units were shut on July 9 for reasons unstated in notices with the commission.

On July 10, traders told Reuters one of the units was a reformer and all of the units were taken down because of poor refining margins. (Reporting by Erwin Seba, editing by Maureen Bavdek)
