Chevron shutting some U.S. Gulf output due storm

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Chevron (CVX.N) said Friday it was shutting some Gulf of Mexico production due to the closure of third-party pipelines on the threat of Tropical Storm Gustav.

The company was also evacuating essential and nonessential workers from platforms in the forecast path of Gustav, it said in a statement.
