NEW YORK, Aug 29 (Reuters) - Sabine Pipeline LLC, operator of the Henry Hub, the benchmark NYMEX natural gas trading point, said in a website posting Friday it could begin shutting down pipeline operations as early as Sunday morning.

"Current weather forecasts are predicting that Hurricane Gustav will make landfall as a major storm somewhere along the central Gulf Coast area early next week and may directly impact Sabine's system and operations," the posting said.

The company added the decision to shut down the line would ultimately be based on weather forecasts and government initiated evacuation requirements. (Reporting by Eileen Moustakis)
