TABLE-US chain store sales fell 0.1 pct last week-ICSC
Nov 10 (Reuters) - The International Council of Shopping Centers and Goldman Sachs on Tuesday released the following seasonally adjusted weekly data on U.S. chain store retail sales. WEEK ENDING INDEX 1977=100 YEAR/YEAR CHANGE WEEKLY CHANGE
(percent) (percent) Nov 7 490.9 2.9 -0.1 Oct 31 491.3 1.9 0.1 Oct 24 490.8 2.4 0.1 Oct 17 490.3 2.8 0.2
ICSC Research expects same-store sales for November could be as strong as 5.0-8.0 percent for the month but currently sales are tracking under that easy-comparison inflated pace. In November 2008, sales tumbled by an historic 7.7 percent.
The ICSC weekly U.S. retail chain store sales index is a joint publication between ICSC and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. It measures nominal same-store sales, excluding restaurant and vehicle demand, and represents about 75 retail chain stores.
