REFILE-Canada new home prices rise 0.5 percent in September

 Nov 12 (Reuters) - New home prices in Canada rose by a
sharper-than-expected 0.5 percent in September from August, the
largest monthly gain since January 2008, Statistics Canada said
on Thursday.
 Following are the percentage changes:

                Sept   Aug        Sept    Aug
   Total      +0.5   +0.1       -2.7   -3.1
    House only +0.7   +0.2       -3.2   -3.9
    Land only  +0.1   -0.1       -1.9   -1.8
 NOTE: The median forecast of analysts surveyed by Reuters
was for a monthly gain of 0.2 percent in September.
