Sinopec's Luoyang plant to add diesel hydrotreater

BEIJING, July 7 (Reuters) - Sinopec Corp's (0386.HK)(SNP.N) (600028.SS) Luoyang refinery has started building a 2.6 million tonne-per-year diesel hydrotreating unit that will help to boost its crude processing capacity to 200,000 barrels per day.

Construction of the facility is expected to be completed in August 2010, Sinopec said in a report posted on a website run by parent Sinopec Group (www.sinopecnews.com.cn).

It did not say how much the new unit would cost.

The plant in central Henan province raised its crude capacity to 160,000 bpd last year from 120,000 bpd after adding a 1.4 million-tpy delayed coking unit and a 2.2 million tpy residue fuel hydrotreating facility-- both designed to produce premium-quality transportation fuels.
