ROME, Dec 11 (Reuters) - Italian oil group Eni's (ENI.MI) Chief Executive Paolo Scaroni said he did not believe a meeting with Kazakh officials in London on Wednesday would reach a definitive solution to the dispute over the Kashagan oilfield.

"I don't think tomorrow's meeting will be conclusive," he told reporters on Tuesday. "But it is a step forward, we'll see what happens. I am cautiously optimistic."

Scaroni added that he did not believe any of the members of the Eni-led Kashagan consortium wanted to leave. Kazakhstan has said it wants either cash compensation or a bigger stake in the oilfield.
