Baghdad (Reuters) - Three U.S. soldiers were killed on Sunday in a suicide attack in Iraq's restive Diyala province, the U.S. military said in a statement.

The attack happened in Baquba, an ethnically mixed and volatile city 65 km (40 miles) north of Baghdad, it said.

It was not immediately clear if it was the same attack that Iraqi police reported in Baquba on Sunday, in which they said a roadside bomb targeting a U.S. foot patrol killed at least three children, two of them siblings, and wounded seven people.
