Samsung says set to beat 2009 handset sales target
SEOUL, Nov 30 (Reuters) - Samsung Electronics (005930.KS), the world's second-biggest mobile phone maker, said on Monday it was on track to exceed its 2009 sales target of 200 million phones, with touchscreen models enjoying sharp growth.
Samsung said in a statement that handsets with full touchscreens would account for about 20 percent of its mobile phone sales this year. In 2008, such phones made up only 5 percent of Samsung's total sales.
