Briefs-ICC hire Mudassar and Dayle Hadlee as coaches

Cricket - Former test players Mudassar Nazar of Pakistan and New Zealander Dayle Hadlee have been hired as coaches for the International Cricket Council's Global Cricket Academy in Dubai, the International Cricket Council said.
Nazar, who coached Pakistan and United Arab Emirates, and Hadlee, who played 25 tests for New Zealand, will report to chief coach Rod Marsh at the Dubai Sports City.
Soccer - Chinese club Wuhan Guanggu are hoping to join a lowly provincial league after they were expelled from the Chinese top flight for protesting against an eight-match suspension handed to their top player, former national team skipper Li Weifeng.
The club is looking to join the Wuhan City League, according to the Asian Football Confederation, which launched the league last year. Li, China's most capped player, received the ban for fighting during a recent match.
Soccer - Sweden will face the United States and Mexico in away friendlies in January next year, the Swedish soccer federation announced on its website (www.svenskfotboll.se).
A team comprising players from Scandinavian clubs will face the U.S. in California on the 24th and four days later Mexico at a yet to be named venue. Continued...
