Briefs 2-Houston hurler Chacon benched following brawl

Baseball - Houston starting pitcher Shawn Chacon has been suspended indefinitely from the team after physically confronting Astros general manager Ed Wade.
Chacon, demoted to the bullpen over the weekend, told the Houston Chronicle that Wade approached him before Wednesday's 3-2 loss to Texas, in an encounter that became physical.
"He started yelling and cussing. I'm sitting there and I said to him very calmly, 'Ed, you need to stop yelling at me,'" Chacon told the Chronicle.
"He continued and was basically yelling and at that point I lost my cool and I grabbed him by the neck and threw him to the ground."
Shooting - Chinese-born pistol shooter Yang Wang has been selected on the New Zealand team for the Beijing Olympics.
Yang was a member of the Chinese national shooting team but did not represent his birthland before emigrating to New Zealand in 2003.
He was among four shooters selected by New Zealand for Beijing, joining Nadine Stanton (women's trap), Graeme Eade (men's trap) and Robbie Eastham (men's prone).
