Briefs-Mourinho shadow hangs over Mancini say lawyers

Oct 10 (Reuters) - Sports news in brief from around the world:

Soccer - Roberto Mancini is being driven out of Milan by the shadow of his successor as Inter Milan coach, Jose Mourinho, his lawyers said.

"He is forced to suffer the direct comparison with the new management," Mancini's lawyers were quoted as saying on daily Il Giornale's website (www.ilgiornale.it). "This unsustainable situation has created the urgent need for Mr Mancini to move from Milan to a destination yet to be established."

Mancini is suing Il Giornale for damages for publishing wiretaps from a drugs probe involving a person known to Mancini, even though there was never any suggestion the former Lazio and Sampdoria striker had done anything wrong.

Motor Racing - Team boss Stefano Domenicali said Valentino Rossi will be able do more tests with Ferrari but added that Italy's six-times premium class motorcycling world champion is unlikely to switch to Formula One.

"We have a great relationship with Valentino and we'll definitely give him the chance to be part of our group again," Domenicali told Sky television. "But I think he has already decided the path for his future."
