BP starting up Texas ultraformer after 3-yr shutdown
SINGAPORE, Nov 17 (Reuters) - - BP (BP.L) is restarting its No. 3 ultraformer at its Texas City, Texas refinery, after it was shut down due to Hurricane Rita in 2005, a filing to the state environmental agency showed on Monday.
The start-up process begins on Monday and will last until Dec 3.
BP's chief financial officer said last month its 467,000 barrel per day (bpd) refinery in Texas City would be back at "full economic contribution" by the end of the year, with the return to service of Ultraformer No. 3.
The refinery, which also shut down ahead of Hurricane Ike this year, had already restarted the second residual hydrotreater. (Reporting by Ramthan Hussain; Editing by Kim Coghill)
