LOCH LOMOND, Scotland, July 12 (Reuters) - Japan's Shingo Katayama has pulled out of next week's British Open at Turnberry because of back problems, organisers said on Sunday.

The 36-year-old, who finished fourth at the U.S. Masters in April, was also forced out of last month's U.S. Open with the same complaint.

American Steve Marino will replace Katayama in the draw for the British Open, which starts on Thursday. (Reporting by Tony Jimenez; Editing by Peter Rutherford. To query or comment on this story email sportsfeedback@thomsonreuters.com)
