Soccer-Man United's Park fit for South Korea friendlies

SEOUL, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Manchester United's Park Ji-sung has declared himself fit ahead of South Korea's friendly matches against Denmark and Serbia over the coming week.

The South Korean captain told reporters he had sufficiently recovered from a knee injury to play in Denmark at the weekend and face Serbia in London next Wednesday.

"If possible I want to play in both matches," Park told the Korea Times on arriving in Denmark.

South Korea looked to be on a collision course with Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson over Park's call-up for the national side.

The English champions have sent a team physician to work with Park.

"This suggestion came from the physical trainer, not Alex Ferguson," said Park. "But Ferguson agreed to allow the trainer to come with me." (Reporting by Alastair Himmer in Tokyo; Editing by Peter Rutherford. To query or comment on this story email sportsfeedback@thomsonreuters.com)
