HIGHLIGHTS-Cricket-Swann removes Katich
BIRMINGHAM, England, July 30 (Reuters) - England off-spinner Graeme Swann dimissed Simon Katich for 46 as Australia reached 104 for one on the first day of the third Ashes test on Thursday.
Katich and Shane Watson shared an opening partnership of 85 after their captain Ricky Ponting had won the toss and the match started six hours late following torrential rain at Edgbaston.
Katich was lbw to Swann aiming to hit him over mid-wicket, bringing Ponting to the crease. Watson had moved on to 51 not out.
