PERTH, Aug 28 (Reuters) - State-run Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) has issued a tender to buy 360,000 tonnes of bituminous coal for delivery between October to November, a producer who received the tender documents said on Thursday.

The tender, which will close on Sept. 9, is for coal with a minimum calorific value of 4,800 kcal/kg Net As Received (NAR), the source said.

Growing unease over the reliability of supplies of coal from China in the fourth-quarter has seen North Asian utilities renew their buying activities, according to suppliers and traders.

Utilities tendering for prompt-delivery cargoes include Taiwan Power Co (Taipower), Korea South-East Power Co (KOSEP) and Philippine's National Power Corp (Napocor). [COAL/TEND] The source said Korean Western Power Co (KOWEPO) has also issued a longer term tender for a minimum 200,000 tonnes of bituminous and sub-bituminous coal.

KOWEPO's tender, which has a delivery schedule of between April 2009-March 2010, will close on Sept. 2. (Reporting by Fayen Wong, editing by James Regan)
