Chevron says Gorgon project gets government approval
SYDNEY, Oct 10 (Reuters) - U.S. energy major Chevron Corp (CVX.N) said on Wednesday the Australian government has issued the final environmental approvals for the massive Gorgon liquefied natural gas (LNG) project off the nation's western coast, paving the way for a final investment decision.
Chevron is the operator of the project and holds a 50 percent stake. Exxon Mobil (XOM.N) and Shell (RDSa.L) each have 25 percent.
