Sims Metal posts $70 mln loss after charge
SYDNEY, May 7 (Reuters) - Australia's Sims Metal Management Ltd (SGM.AX) posted a A$94 million ($70 million) net loss after taking an impairment charge for nine months ended March, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
The result was in line with guidance given by Sims earlier in the month. It also said it was not able to give a forecast for its fourth quarter due to economic turbulence. ($1=A$1.34) (Reporting by Denny Thomas)
