TABLE-Asia physical rubber prices - December 11
TOKYO, Dec 11 (Reuters) - Asia physical rubber prices followed Tokyo futures prices higher on Tuesday, while wet weather in Thailand, the world's biggest natural rubber producer, gave an extra boost to the market.
Key rubber futures contract for May delivery on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange <0#JRU:> rose 1 percent to 285.5 yen ($2.56) a kg, adding to a 3 percent rally on Monday, when Thai markets were closed for a national holiday.
"Rain came back in the last few days, so I expect supplies to be tighter this week, compared with last week," said a trader in Thailand's southern city of Hat Yai.
Until recently, supply concerns were somewhat soothed by more latex entering markets in Thailand and Malaysia, the world's third-largest producer, as heavy rains subsided and tappers returned to work in plantations.
