Japan PM: 2nd extra budget focus jobs, environment
TOKYO, Nov 16 (Reuters) - Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama said on Monday a planned second extra budget for the fiscal year to March will likely focus on measures to create jobs and tackle environmental issues.
Asked about a leak of economic growth figures by the trade minister ahead of their release earlier in the day, he told reporters it was careless and regrettable.
Trade Minister Masayuki Naoshima apologised for disclosing the market-sensitive GDP figures in a speech to business executives ahead of their official release, raising questions about the new government's handling of sensitive information. [ID:nT253270]
