CANADA STOCKS-TSX finishes higher, led by financials
TORONTO, July 14 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index finished higher on Tuesday in a broad rally led by financials, which were encouraged by strong earnings at Goldman Sachs (GS.N: Quote, Profile, Research) in the United States.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE unofficially closed up 86.42 points, or 0.87 percent, at 9,978.35.
Nine of the index's 10 main groups were higher, led by a 1.97 percent advance in the heavyweight financials sector. (Reporting by John McCrank; editing by Peter Galloway)
